MAYWEATHER KNOCKED-OUT BY PACQUIAO

"Before a downfall a proud heart'. Mayweather's arrogance and loud mouth are not ones of his many assets. His demand for a random drug test is an insult not only to Manny Pacquiao but to the whole Filipino nation. The present pound for pound king is a human being with imperfections and vices, but I truly believe that it is not in his character to be a cheater or not to be a fair fighter. During his fight with Oscar de la Hoya, there was a rumor that Oscar camp cheated on weigh in, When Manny Pacquiao was interviewed about this, he just said, "let him be, God will judge him if he (Oscar) did cheat".  The Philippine government officials maybe one of the most corrupt in the world, but the majority of the Filipinos, poor as they are, are just, honest, hardworking, God fearing people. Manny Pacquiao rose from this rank. He represents the Filipino masses. He knows their values and sentiments, he knows how and what it is to be fair. My countrymen have been accused of many things, but we have our own merits and strength and these are some of those.

I am a boxing enthusiast and a former avid Floyd Mayweather fan. In my analysis, the Pretty boy will win against the Pacman If there would be a boxing match between them. Being a Filipino, my heart and sympathy goes to Manny Pacquiao; but I don't put my money where my heart is. It goes to the one who has the edge in reach, in height, in speed, in power, in experience, in intelligence. . in will. Mayweather has an advantage in many aspects specially in the will to win which he has a head start being the one who has so much to lose; his crown, his clean record, his pretty boy image of unsullied face after a fight, his reputation.

Pacquiao and Mayweather fight could be compared to a fight between David and Goliath; and with no sling, stones or any weapons, with just bear hands and with gloves, I believe that Goliath has the upper hand. Besides, Mayweather is more cunning and shrewd than Goliath. The Philistine's No.1 fighter, seeing that his opponent is just a child and it is a mismatch, removed his helmet in order to give David a fair fight and a chance to win; whereas Mayweather despite his advantage wants to remove from Pacquiao the thing that made him a fighter and a man: his pride.  Now, if this is not shrewdness? Call it cowardice, insecurity, absurdity or plain stupidity.

A true fighter should respect an opponent who is worthy enough to test his caliber as a boxer, and he should not make any accusation against his opponent based on rumor and self serving whims. Questioning Pacman's legitimacy is to challenge the authority of that award giving body which recognized him as the No.1 fighter of the world, the same group that gave Mayweather the same recognition before he retired. An irony which only a man with eyes clouded with pride or fear (?) would not see. And why suddenly there is such a demand?  why just now? And why on Pacquiao? Was it because Pacquiao is the first Asian boxer and the first in the world to achieve such feat. An exploit greater than anyone could imagine, and even greater than someone who already retired with unstained face and record.

Maybe the reason why Mayweather is reluctant to fight Pacquiao is his pretty boy image and unblemished face which unlikely would remain unblemished after a fight with a fast unorthodox hard puncher like Manny Pacquiao. But he should fight and without any demand since he is already blemished not in his face or record but in his character as a person and a fighter being foolish enough to make such an outrageous demand.  And he should be in a hurry considering that despite Pacman's simplicity and shortcoming as a thinker, he might as well realized that there is no need for him to fight since he already did won; not in a ring, not after a fight, not by his killer punch, but by just being himself; a true fighter and a true pound for pound king in and out the boxing ring.
